About Mentoring Liaisons
Over the course of the last twenty years, we have witnessed a decline in the number of trials. The factors contributing to this reduction have been discussed by the College leaders at length over the past twenty years. The reduction in trials, and by extension trial lawyers, only furthers our belief that experienced trial lawyers of integrity are essential to ensure access to justice by all in our respective countries, and to the rule of law underlying our constitutional frameworks.
The continued existence of experienced trial lawyers will require a renewed commitment to mentoring lawyers interested in trial work as they enter the practice of law. We consider the tutelage of young lawyers to be an essential part of our role as Fellows of the College.
Mentoring Liaisons are Fellows of the College who are committed to mentoring younger lawyers in their communities. Liaisons collaborate with one another to exchange ideas and successes. It is a voluntary commitment initiated by the Fellow.
