Tim Newsom has tried personal injury and business cases for over thirty-two years. His current primary practice is in the area of catastrophic personal injury with the Law Offices of Frank L. Branson, P.C.
Tim began his legal career with a judicial clerkship at the Amarillo Court of Appeals. From there he entered private practice concentrating on personal injury and business litigation. He is board certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and in Civil Trial Law by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.
Tim is a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers and International Academy of Trial Lawyers. He is an Associate in the American Board of Trial Advocates. He is a Past President of TEX-ABOTA, a regional chapter of ABOTA, and serves on the Executive Committee and as Treasurer for the Dallas Chapter of ABOTA. He is a Past President of the Amarillo Chapter of ABOTA and Amarillo Area Bar Association. He is currently a member of the American Association for Justice, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, Dallas Trial Lawyers Association, Dallas Bar Association, and Amarillo Area Bar Association.
Tim received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Austin College in 1989 and earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Texas Tech University School of Law in 1992. He is licensed to practice in Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.
Tim is married to Judy Freeman Newsom, Ph.D., R.Ph. and has two children: Chase, a lawyer in Dallas, and Jordan, an elementary school teacher in the Richardson Independent School District.
